Castle Hill plumbing interview

Plumbers are much in demand these days. It could be signs of a reviving economy that people are calling in plumbers for their plumbing emergencies. But, does every plumbing job require an expert plumber? What about DIY plumbing jobs? We talk to a professional plumber from Castle Hill to find out more about DIY plumbing.

Lance Cullen has been working with a very popular plumbing network for 8 years now. His plumbing agency handles all sorts of plumbing emergencies from drain, heating, water tank installation and sewage problems to boiler problems, septic systems and renovations.

“What precautions should people take before a DIY plumbing job?”

“Depends on the job really. Generally speaking, it is important to use the right tools for the job. Do not insert your hand into drains. Wear safety gear, when necessary. Before you undertake any DIY job, it might be a good idea to turn off the water mains. If you need to use tools like a power drill or a knife, be extremely careful as these can lead to accidents or they may cut your pipe. Ladders are dangerous and they are the cause of maximum DIY accidents. Be careful with ladders. A little caution is all you need. But many people are in a rush and they forget about protecting themselves.”

“Yes, keeping yourself safe is the first priority, always. And what about you, Lance? Are you a DIY sort of person?”

“Well, I am. To the extent where I know that I am in control of the situation. Otherwise, I like to call people who know what to do. When you’re in a job where you see the damage that a little carelessness can do, you’re always having a phobia that you might botch things up.”

So, there you have it – straight from the mouth of a master plumber. If in doubt, call the experts!
